Login to MySQL Database on Linux

Below is method to login to mysql database on Linux server
$mysql -h <hostname> -u <username> -p <database name>
it will prompt for password,once you enter password it will connect to mysql instance
If you want enter at command prompt only then put the password just after -p without space
$mysql -h <hostname> -u <username> -pPassword <database name>
where
hostname– is server name or IP address where mysql database is running
username – is user already available in database with login permission
MySQL help commands
on system level
  mysql –help
In database level
   mysql>help DROP TABLE
